For this, the work will be done by creating a central database and software.
Such a decision was taken in a meeting held recently. This master plan has been adopted with the aim of ensuring social distancing and speed, transparency, accountability and coordination in distribution of relief to prevent corona virus infection in the country. The meeting was held between the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief and the Information Technology Department of the Government.
State Minister of Information Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak, State Minister of Disaster Management and Relief Ministry attended the inter-ministerial meeting held through video conference. Md. Also in the meeting, Director General of Disaster Management Directorate, Dhaka Divisional Commissioner. Mostafizur Rahman, Executive Director of Bangladesh Computer Council, Project Director of A2I project and officials of both ministries also attended the online meeting.
It has been reported that the State Minister for Information Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak has announced the steps to create a software within the next 7 days to manage the relief activities by creating a central database.
It was also informed in the meeting to take steps to link 333 with the Ministry of Relief on the instructions of the Prime Minister.
Along with this, the concerned officials of the two ministries have given their opinion on what other measures need to be taken to coordinate and speed up the relief distribution program through the proper use of technology.
The IT department informed that the A2I program will also develop a software to create a central database of beneficiaries in relief distribution programs across the country. Where the beneficiary's national identity card or birth registration certificate and mobile number will be used. A QR code system and use of mobile apps are also mentioned.
State Minister for Information Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak said that the Information Technology Department will work jointly with the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief for the greater welfare of the people during this disaster and will provide all necessary assistance.
At this time, he requested the Minister of State for Disaster and Relief to use A2i's one-shop platform to ensure transportation and distribution from one district to another district for distribution of farmers' produce as relief.
