Longi Bhuinya, a resident of Kothiwala village in Lathua area of Bihar, has been cutting a three-kilometer long canal for 30 years to bring the rainwater that has flowed down the hill to the village. Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra stood next to the old man.
Anand Mahindra was happy to see this unique work of the man. He decided to stand next to Longi. After that he was gifted a tractor by Mahindra Tractors. Mahindra himself gave this news by tweeting.
It is known that the village is located at the foot of the hill, 80 km away from Gaya district. Dense forest all around. Water is not available here. During the rainy season, the rainwater flows down the hill and merges into the river. Longir noticed this. Then he thought how to bring the water down the hill to the village. After that, he thought of cutting the canal. He started the fight. Which has stopped after 30 years!
While other residents of the village went out in search of bread and sustenance, Longi concentrated on cutting the canal. He dug the 3 km long canal with a long single effort. That is why the monsoon water is coming down the hill and coming to the village pond with the help of the canal. Due to this, the water problem of the villagers has been solved to a large extent.
