The Dhaka Times Desk As soon as the corona epidemic is over, China is currently facing a grain crisis. A new program has been launched in China to tackle the food crisis. The operation was named, 'Operation Empty Plate'.

The purpose of this operation is to make people aware about eating less food at night and wasting food. Moreover, the Chinese government has also implemented a new policy. Under this, people and hotels and restaurants will have to pay fines for wasting food.
Chinese President Xi Jinping said after launching 'Operation Empty Plate' that the aim is to encourage people to eat as much as they need.
It is said that China is far ahead in terms of food waste. A number of videos have surfaced on social media, showing a man eating 10 burgers and pizzas at once.
It should be noted that in China, 'overeating', a challenge of how much one can eat at a time, is extremely popular. Currently, many people were making videos about eating more with this challenge. But from now on it is completely banned by law.
Overeating in China will be considered illegal under 'Operation Empty Plate'. It is reported that a fine of around 1 lakh rupees will be imposed for eating extra food. Strict action will be taken against the restaurants if they violate this law.
Videos of these challenges often go viral on social media in China. The challenge of 10 pizza dishes is taken. According to the law, legal action will be taken against the TV channels who promote these scenes or challenges.
As China is currently facing a grain crisis, this step is said to have been taken to prevent food wastage. It is said that at least 30 million tons of food is wasted in China every year. That means 6 percent of the total production is lost.
