Yesterday (Saturday) the Information Technology (ICT) Department organized a press conference on '12 years of digital Bangladesh moving forward under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina' at the ICT Tower in Agargaon.
State Minister for Information Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak appeared with a detailed presentation of various initiatives to become Digital Bangladesh in 12 years, achievements and future work-plans.
ICT State Minister also said that in the last 12 years since 2008, more than 15 lakh youths have been employed in the ICT sector. We are optimistic that this number will reach 2 million by December 2021. To meet the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution and exploit the potential, the government has laid more emphasis on creating skilled manpower. Already training on cutting-edge technology blockchain, robotics, AI, AR, VR, cloud computing, 3D technology has started. Besides, Sheikh Hasina Institute of Frontier Technology is also being developed.
The State Minister for ICT said that a strong ICT backbone has developed in our country over the past decade, which has also led to the expansion of information and communication technology to remote areas. 3 thousand 800 unions of the country are now covered by broadband internet connectivity. By 2021 internet service will be ensured for all. In the last 10 months, 100,000 youths have been employed in e-commerce despite the Corona virus. Due to the creation of ICT backbone, it has become possible to continue the activities of offices-courts, medical services, education and trade while maintaining social distance during the Corona pandemic. Things to do to prevent Corona virus
# stay at home all the time.
