Today is the holy Eid-ul-Fitr

The Dhaka Times Desk Today August 9 is the holy Eid-ul-Fitr. The main religious festival of the Muslim community will be celebrated after a long month of fasting.

"At the end of that fast of Ramadan came the happy Eid." The entire nation is celebrating the holy Eid-ul-Fitr today in a very joyful atmosphere. We call this Eid as fasting Eid. After a long month of fasting, today's Eid is very happy for every Muslim. Everyone rushed to their village home to celebrate Eid with their parents, brothers and sisters. The joy of Eid can never be expressed in words.

Shopping started in the markets from the beginning of Ramadan last month. There were crowds of people in those markets till late yesterday night. Everyone bought according to their ability.

Eid is for everyone, rich and poor. The great Rabbul Alamin has given everyone a great opportunity to stand in one line. From this point of view, Eid not only brings a message of joy, but also reveals a great identity of Islam's equality.

As soon as the moon is seen, house to house starts preparing delicious food as much as possible. Popularly known as 'Semai's Eid', this Eid is accompanied by different types of Semai with Phirni, Pitha, Pies, Polao, Korma and other delicious food. Patients, prisoners or workers engaged in various professions will not be excluded from special arrangements. Hospitals, orphanages and prisons for prisoners traditionally have good quality food. Special food and recreation facilities will also be provided in Government Children's Homes, Chotmani Nivas, Socially Handicapped Centers, Shelters, Old Age Homes, Vaghurian Welfare Centers and Distressed Welfare Centres.

President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Leader of the Opposition Begum Khaleda Zia delivered messages on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr.

On the occasion of Eid, daily newspapers have already published special crore papers. And to increase this joy, different television channels have 7 days of Eid special programs.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will exchange greetings with politicians, poets, writers, writers, journalists, teachers and people of various classes and professions at Ganabhaban from 9:30 am on the day of Eid and with diplomats and judges at 11:30 am.

BNP chairperson and opposition leader Begum Khaleda Zia will exchange greetings with prominent citizens from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm and with diplomats from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center on the day of Eid.

When and where is the Eid congregation in the capital?

As the moon of the month of Shawwal was sighted yesterday evening, the holy Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated across the country today on Friday. In this, all preparations for Eid-ul-Fitr are over. Various Eidgah authorities of the capital including National Eidgah and National Mosque Baitul Mukarram have also completed preparations for the Eid congregation. As always, the country's main Eid congregation will be held at the National Eidgah Maidan and five congregations will be held at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque. Like every time, the country's biggest Eid Jamat was held at the Sholakia Eidgah Maidan in Kishoreganj.

Jatiya Eidgah: The main congregation will be held at the Jatiya Eidgah ground adjacent to the High Court at 8:30 am. Professor Maulana Mohammad Salahuddin Ahmed, Khatib of the National Mosque, will lead the Imam there. The whole ground has been covered with a canopy so that the worshipers can perform the Eid prayers uninterruptedly in the sun and rain.

Baitul Mukarram

The first congregation of Eid will be held at National Mosque Baitul Mukarram at 7 am. After that, four more congregations will be held here at 8, 9, 10 and 11.

Eid Jamat at 8 am: Nayapaltan Jame Masjid, Abujar Giffari College Ground, Kalyanpur Housing Estate Jame Masjid, Mirpur Section 12, Block D Eidgah Ground, Dhanmondi Eidgah Maidan, Mirpur Section 12 A Block Harun Mollah Eidgah, Park and Playground, East Kazipara Baitul Salam Jame Masjid and Pallima Sangsad Maidan.

Eid congregation at 8:30 am

Eid congregation will be held at Gulshan Central Mosque and Eidgah Maidan at 8:30 am. At the same time Eid Jamaat will be held at Mohammadpur Jame Masjid Complex, Lalbagh Fort Jama Masjid, Dhaka Railway Station Platform, Darus Salam Markaz Ishatate Islam Jama Masjid and Sayedabad Arjushah Jama Masjid and Bachilar Haji Lat Mia Ghat Jama Masjid.

Besides, the first congregation will be at 7 am and the second congregation will be at 8 am at Dakshin Bansri Central Jama Masjid. The first congregation will be held at 8:30 am and the second congregation will be held at 9:30 am at Rupnagar Arambagh Eidgah Maidan and Bangabandhu Udyan.

There will be three congregations in Dewan Bagh Durbar Sharif. The first of these will be held at 8 am, the second at 9:30 am and the third at 10 am. The first congregation will be held at 8:30 am and the second at 10 am at Neelkhet Babupura Shah Sahib Bari Maryam Bibi Shahi Mosque. The first congregation will be held at 7 am, the second at 8:30 and the third at 8:30 in the central mosque of the Bangladesh Mosque Mission in Kantaban. Bangladesh University of Engineering (BUET) grounds will have a congregation at quarter to eight in the morning.
