Today is the holy Eid-ul-Azha

The Dhaka Times Desk Today is the holy Eid-ul-Azha - the Eid of Sacrifice. This day is celebrated with due religious solemnity throughout the country.

This Eid will be celebrated through sacrifice to Almighty Allah. Like every year, extensive preparations have been made. Eid-ul-Azha is the great religious festival of the Muslim Ummah, glowing in the glory of the great sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S.). Eid-ul-Azha has been celebrated in the Muslim world for thousands of years, commemorating a historic event of supreme loyalty to Allah and supreme sacrifice for His sake. Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S.) prepared his own son Ismail (A.S.) for sacrifice on the command of Allah. But later it was found that there was a Dumba sacrifice. This is the history of self-sacrifice that glorifies every Muslim man and woman.

President, Prime Minister and Leader of Opposition Begum Khaleda Zia will exchange Eid greetings with people from different walks of life and invited guests.

Dhaka City Corporation has taken special measures for quick removal of sacrificial animal waste.

On the occasion of Eid, various important roads and road islands of the capital have been decorated with special national and Eid Mubarak flags. Apart from this, national flags and Eid Mubarak flags have been hoisted in all public and private buildings.

On the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, high-quality food will be served in all prisons, government hospitals, vagrant centers, old age homes and children's and maternity homes, including the central jail.

The main congregation will be held at the National Eidgah. Besides, the country's largest congregation will be held at Sholakia Maidan in Kishoreganj.
