The Dhaka Times Desk Florida Atlantic University (FAU) is offering scholarships for Bangladeshi undergraduate students (F-1 and J-1 degree candidates) for up to four years or eight semesters.
The scholarship will be awarded for the upcoming spring and fall terms to support international students studying at the university. Students of Bangladesh who have been admitted to the university through Study Group, an international education service provider, can also apply for this scholarship.
Applicants must be considered degree-seeking students to apply for this scholarship. In addition, he/she must have earned a high school diploma or its equivalent prior to the first day of classes. The scholarship amount for a student is up to a total of Tk 5 lakh 15 thousand 31 per year (maximum total of Tk 20 lakh 59 thousand 592 for first year applicants and maximum Tk 10 lakh 29 thousand 746 for transfer applicants). Interested students must complete a full application by May 1, have a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 US grading scale, and submit their SAT or ACT scores.
In this regard, Srini Bandara, Regional Director of the Study Group said, “This new scholarship initiative of FAU is determined to help the students of the country in their undergraduate studies, an important step towards career success. These scholarships will enable students to gain exposure to the global context and pursue their higher education goals with reliable financial support.”
There are also other scholarship opportunities for undergraduate students in the country. These include the Deepan International Scholarship of Tk 6 lakh 86 thousand 484 and Tk 3 lakh 43 thousand 235.
