On the last day of the blockade, BNP spokesperson Joint Secretary General Salahuddin Ahmed told the media that the blockade will continue till 5 pm on Thursday.

Local government minister Syed Ashraf left Dhaka in the morning for his area Kishoreganj to submit nomination papers. At least three hand grenades and stones were hurled on the road soon after his convoy crossed Tongir Hossain Market.
Tongi Police Station OC Kazi Ismail Hossain said, "The windows of some cars were broken by the impact of rocks. However, the minister's convoy left for its destination safely. There was no damage to their vehicle."
Minister's personal officer Syed Tofazzal Hossain said, "We heard a loud noise behind while crossing Tongi. We didn't have any problems. We have reached Kishoreganj.”
It may be noted that the 18-party alliance led by BNP called a 72-hour blockade program from Saturday, which was supposed to end at 6 am on Tuesday, on the demand of the non-partisan government.
