The Dhaka Times Desk Jamaat leader Abdul Quader, who was hanged for crimes against humanity in 1971, will be hanged tonight.

Jail authorities have already sent the 'red letter' signed by Jail Superintendent Ali to Quader Mollah's family. It is learned that all of them are going to have a final meeting with Quader Mollah at 8 pm.

Apart from this, 6 executioners have been trained to execute the 1971 execution of Quader Molla, known as Butcher of Mirpur, and they are currently lodged in Dhaka Central Jail. Prisoner Shahjahan Bhuiyan will work as the chief executioner among these executioners. He is currently serving a 60-year sentence for the murder of Shahjahan Bhuiyan, before he executed the death sentence for the murderers of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
According to the sources of prison authorities, 6 executioners have been prepared, but among them, 1 person is kept in reserve and the remaining 4 people, including the chief executioner, will be on the gallows and will perform all the duties of execution.

Meanwhile, the trials and tribulations of the gallows and hanging rope (manila rope) have been completed. A judge and a magistrate completed the entire case review and also monitored the security situation of the Dhaka Central Jail.
If everything goes well tonight at 12:01 PM, the first war criminal sentence in the history of Bangladesh is going to be executed.
Meanwhile, Deputy Home Minister Shamsul Haque Tuku said in a press release that Quader Molla's death sentence will be executed tonight.
It is to be noted that this is the first death penalty verdict of a defendant in the International War Crimes Tribunal formed for various crimes against humanity committed as an accomplice of foreign forces during the Bangladesh War of Independence in 1971.
