To Kamrul Hasan, he said, Shibir Jamaat has established a strong base in Banshkhali where most of the people are supporters of Jamaat, the power of the administration is of no use here. When we ourselves go to these areas we do not feel safe ourselves so we are forced to remain silent in many cases.

According to local sources, Banshkhali area is different from Chittagong or any other area of Bangladesh where there is a much hotter situation on the issue of justice of war criminals. Although the burning started from February 28 on the issue of war criminals in other areas, the protests started on January 28 in Banshkhali.

On February 28, a terrible terror took place here centered on the trial of war criminals, in which the local, upazila judicial magistrate court and civil court were set on fire and hundreds of shops were vandalized and looted. 4 thousand 800 cases of both criminal and civil courts established in 1984 and various documents stored by the court, various structures of the court building including the jail, the judicial magistrate and the assistant judge's rooms were burnt. For this, the plaintiff-defendant and lawyers of the case are in extreme trouble. Court proceedings have come to a standstill. For two to six months, there were no proceedings in these courts, as a result of which the defendants, plaintiffs and related parties in many local cases were in trouble.

Talking about Banshkhali, Superintendent of Police of Chittagong Zone AKM Hafiz Akhtar said that Banshkhali, Satkania and Lohagara areas are very much prone to terrorism and because of Jamaat camp control, these areas are the first to be considered when there is a question of strengthening security in the country.
Meanwhile, speaking with the locals, it is known that the local Amir of the Jamaat said. Zahirul Islam is very powerful and controls the South Banskhali area. Basically, this area was controlled under his orders and the local Jamaat supporters consider their area as Pakistan territory.
