On the way to the election campaign, someone attacked the convoy of Awami League presidium member and former interior minister Mohammad Nasim. However, it is reported that there was no damage. This incident took place today Thursday around 1 o'clock near Sarada Police Academy in Charghat, Rajshahi. According to party sources, leaders including Mohammad Nasim and former mayor of Rajshahi AHM Khairuzzaman Liton were going to attend the election meeting of current MP Shahriar Alam, candidate of Awami League party member of parliament in Charghat.
Citing eyewitnesses, the news media said that Nasim's convoy was targeted by two successive bomb attacks. However, it was not immediately known who carried out the attack. On the other hand, Awami League leaders claimed that BNP and Jamaat carried out the attack.
