But problems arise when MRSA that are drug-resistant become involved. While other bacteria can be controlled with traditional antibiotics such as penicillin, they cannot be tamed. Dr. Molitor said MRSA has a special type of enzyme, or weschock.
So it is not easy to destroy such bacteria with the antibiotics available so far. By the time doctors detect the presence of this deadly germ, it is too late. In Germany, tens of thousands of patients die each year from MRSA infection. One-third of infections are caused by unsanitary hospital environments.

The hope is that this antibiotic can counter the bacteria's defenses and suppress its internal enzymes. As a result, the bacteria will not be able to spread. However, the new drug cannot be said to be effective in preventing MRSA. Dr. According to Molitor, there is a constant race between the proliferation of microbes and the potential to develop drugs. It is observed in almost all cases that some bacteria are slightly stronger than their counterparts and are able to survive the drugs. Bacteria are cunning artists of survival. They can expand very quickly and adapt to new situations. The more often they encounter lethal drugs, the more they look for loopholes, becoming drug resistant.
Dr. Molitor said, there is no reason to despair at this moment. New drugs to fight MRSA could give us extra security. If someone is infected with MRSA bacteria tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, effective treatment will be available.
