The Dhaka Times Desk Two tourists were attacked by elephants when they entered a sanctuary for wild elephants by mistake. An elephant completely crushed their car. The incident took place in South Africa's Pilanesberg National Park.
Looking at the pictures, you might think that the elephant is pissed off at the sight of the outsider in its own territory, and completely mauls the car like a toy. But actually it is not. The images of the elephant attack were taken by Pilanesberg National Park guide and manager Armand Grabler.
Grabler said, "What we know about animal behavior is that there was no actual violence in the elephant's behavior." The elephant is surprised to see a car in its area and it moving. He started playing with it. But his game was risky for the visitors inside the car. Also we didn't understand if it would be limited to the game.
There were two tourists in the car, a man and a woman. Both of them are in their thirties. Fortunately they were not harmed and survived quite well. But they are a bit scared and surprised by this sudden behavior of the elephant.
Now listen to the condition of the car, the front driver's side of the car is completely crushed. The windows and front glass were broken and completely crushed. With the help of the park guides, the passengers of the vehicle were freed from this sudden behavior of the elephant and their lives were saved.
