Last week, this huge python attacked the homestead in Mangalkotha village of Dhamirhat upazila of Naogaon late at night in search of food. But left the rules - this python was caught. The next morning, this python was caged and taken to Dhamirhat Banbit Officer's office.
Dhamirhat Upazila Nirbahi Officer Hemayet Uddin told the media that after the snake was seized on Tuesday, the officials of the Wildlife Conservation Department were informed about the matter. They again tried to release the python at Altadighi Shaalban. But it was not possible to do it in the face of strong pressure from the locals.
The Upazila Nirbahi officer also said that later the python was taken to the Rajshahi Divisional Wildlife Conservation Office. But they are not coming to take the snake. He expressed fear that if the python kept in the office of the Dhamirhat Banbit officer is trapped in the cage like this, the snake may be harmed.
Meanwhile, when Rajshahi Divisional Wildlife Conservation Officer Rezaul Karim was contacted, he said that he could not go due to official complications. He told the media that people have been kept there to take care of the snake. He said, regular food is also given to the snake. But he could not tell anything about when the python will be taken or where it will be taken or whether it will be released or not.
It is to be noted that the python attacked cattle at the house of a man named Arafat in Mangalkotha village in search of food late on Tuesday. Realizing the incident, the people of the house caught the python with the help of neighbors. Notifies the administration. Earlier this python ate a fox. Later the local forest department released the python in Altadighi Shaalban.
