After the late Jobs of techguru fame, this time, antivirus maker John McAfee is on the big screen. Recently the Guardian published a report on this matter. According to the report, this full-length film is being made based on the reality of McAfee's life. Among tech icons, John McAfee has been at the center of discussion for the past year. However, no name has been released yet on who is being cast in the title role of the upcoming movie about McAfee. It is said that the production company Warner Brothers is producing this film. And so the company also bought the rights to the book 'John McAfee's Last Stand'. The entire book is a summary of McAfee's eventful life. McAfee has already passed 67 springs of his life. McAfee, who lives in Belize, recently came to the discussion after a murder. He was on the run since the incident. He meets his girlfriend in Guatemala. He called himself tired after being arrested for trespassing.

When the story is on the way to reality

We all know science fiction writer Julvern. Whose various imaginary thoughts now we see in reality. This continuity is now present. And one by one, various imaginary thoughts are becoming the product of reality. Hundreds of science fiction technologies are now at our fingertips.

Recently, another such innovation has given people hope. And this is a software. Professor Richard Mark of the University of Pennsylvania is the creator of this software. He said that the number of murders and other crimes can be reduced by using this software. According to Mashable, the software will alert the administration in Hollywood style. Readers must have understood what is being said by now. Yes, the security forces will now know the crime before it takes place. This means that a prequel to the Hollywood movie Minority Report takes place before a crime is committed. However, there are some differences between the technology of the movie and the reality. Because this will be done by a software. And a man did it in the movie. It is known that the functionality of the software has already been tested by the police administration of several states of the United States. And the police departments of Baltimore and Philadelphia have already started using it. According to news agencies, it is also being discussed in Washington DC. But in an interview about how software can warn criminals before they happen, Richard Mark said that when a parole officer keeps track of released criminals, he may not be doing it right. But this software will determine how likely that criminal is to engage in crime later on. Earlier, where one out of 100 murders could be identified, now 8 are being identified before the murder through this software. But Mark made it fit Spielberg's film.

VoIP is being opened in the country

Government has approved 1004 VoIP licenses to reduce the illegal use of VoIP in Bangladesh. The number was selected from 1,508 applications submitted by October last year. Telecom Secretary Abu Bakar Siddique confirmed the approval of 1004 VoIP licenses.

Now only formalities remain. However, BTRC requested the government to grant only 257 VoIP licenses, but eventually got permission for more than 1,000 licenses. The Ministry of Telecommunication has approved 1004 companies for validating VoIP. Later, the ministry sent a letter to BTRC that these companies can be given licenses. Telecommunication Secretary said that license will be given to these companies in a short time. Earlier, the applications submitted in BTRC are evaluated and a list is sent to the ministry in order of number. Sources said that companies which have secured minimum 48 marks out of 100 marks are being given license. However, the telecom secretary refused to specify the minimum number. Sources said that a company got maximum 89 marks while evaluating the application. Again 35 companies were not given any number because they made many mistakes. On January 1, the list with the names of all the companies was sent to the ministry.
The Telecommunication Secretary said that the decision to give so many licenses is to legalize illegal international telephone calls and ensure the government's income. He said that more number of licenses will increase the competition and as a result the revenue of the government will also increase. The secretary said that the government should get a big income from this sector by June. Some targets are also given for it. This income should be ensured by diverting illegal calls to legitimate channels. However, several officials of BTRC are expressing disagreement with this statement of the secretary. The experts of the related sector are also saying against giving so many licenses.

They say, with so many licenses, BTRC will fall into chaos. Then they will not be able to control anything. If they license more, competition will increase, which is not true in all cases. On the other hand, if they cannot make a profit due to the large number, then they may become enthusiastic in illegal activities.

On the other hand, several related officers of BTRC say that the number of licenses should be determined depending on the number of calls that will come to the country through the international gateway or IEGW and how many new licensees will bring.

PC sales fell 6.4 percent in 2012

Globally in the last quarter of 2012 October-December PC (desktop and laptop) sold 8 crore 98 lakh units. Which is 6.4 percent less than the same period of the previous year.

According to the market research institute IDC, PC sales decreased by 3.2 percent last year. In the fourth quarter, the world's top computer maker HP's shipments fell by 6.6 percent compared to the same period a year earlier. However, the PC supply of the main rival Lenovo increased by 8.2 percent. Dell had the biggest drop in supply among the top companies. Compared to the same period of 2011, the company's product sales have decreased by 20.8 percent. Another rival Acer's sales fell by 28.2 percent during this period. However, Asus managed to increase their PC supply by 5.6 percent during this period. Not only the economic crisis, but also the changing focus of companies is working behind reducing the supply of PCs. Most of the PC manufacturing companies are now more focused on making portable devices like tablets, ultrabooks, smartphones. Companies' finance and marketing strategies are increasingly focused on creating apps and other software that can be used on these devices. Operating systems like Windows 8, however, have also played a role in bringing about changes in the PC market. Touchscreen devices are more compatible with this operating system. As a result, PC manufacturers are also more interested in making devices suitable for this new operating system. According to IDC, manufacturers are very skeptical about the PC market due to the lack of suitable applications as well as the limitations of using touch-based systems on Windows PCs. Jay Chow, an analyst at the firm, said suppliers were focused on destocking Windows 7-based computers in the third quarter. However, even after finishing the stock, they have not been successful in making space for Windows 8. Making touch PCs more secure, reliable and efficient has been overlooked. He also said that if the price of ultrabooks goes down and consumers are interested in Windows 8, then the PC market could be strengthened next year. However, the decline in PC sales has eased slightly as large companies in the US market replace their old computers. Also, while consumer interest in Windows 8 is low, PC sales have increased slightly. However, IDC said sales were slightly lower due to limited product variety, particularly a shortage of touchscreen PCs.

Meanwhile, Dell is losing its grip on the PC market as it focuses on other profitable businesses. Currently, the company's share in this market is 10.6 percent. HP's market share is 16.7 percent. According to IDC, the company has been able to hold the top position of the market until now because of the aggressive marketing of Windows 8. IDC believes that demand for PCs is declining due to greater consumer interest in tablets and smartphones. Analyzing data from the World Wide Quarterly PC Tracker, the firm said the PC market is lagging behind due to the continued economic slowdown and competing devices. IDC had earlier said that PC shipments could fall by 4.4 percent in the latest quarter. However, the market situation was worse than the company's forecast.
