12 people were injured when 6 coaches of an intercity train derailed in Kulaura. After this accident at around 3 pm on Wednesday, the rail communication between Sylhet and Dhaka and Chittagong has been completely stopped. According to Srimangal Railway sources, the injured have been admitted to Kulaura Upazila Health Complex.
According to media sources, 6 coaches of Chittagong-bound 'Udayan Express' train which left Sylhet derailed in an area called Chakshalan between Tilagaon and Manu railway station in Kulaura. However, no one has yet confirmed what caused the train to derail. However, it is believed that this may have happened due to the removal of the face plate of the railway line. The rescue train has already reached the spot and the work of rescuing the engine and coaches of the accident train has started.

Train movement stopped at Joypurhat due to uprooting of lines. No accident occurred as the railway workers understood the matter. Train communication between Joypurhat and Dhaka, Rajshahi, Dinajpur, Syedpur, Pavartipur and Nilphamari has been cut off since Thursday morning.
It is known that around 36 feet of railway line was uprooted in the area called Uri Setu of Joypurhat Sadar Upazila sometime in the morning. Due to early understanding, no major accidents occurred. At that time, about 36 feet of line was removed by opening the pandle clip and faceplate of the railway line. Line repair work is in progress.
It is to be noted that before this incident, the police arrested 2 teenagers with sharp weapons on charges of trying to sabotage the railway line at Puranapail area of Joypurhat Sadar yesterday at 9:30 pm.
