According to media reports, in that proposal, US President Barack Obama mentioned IS as an extreme threat to the motherland of the United States. The proposal calls for intensive airstrikes against IS as well as ground military operations. The campaign will be conducted for the next three years. But there will be no limits. It is reported that the operation will begin under the new president after the election in 2016.
It should be noted that US lawmakers have raised questions about conducting large-scale and long-term operations across Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan. That would cost a lot of money and put the lives of American citizens at risk, lawmakers say.
