Everyone who researches movies knows the fame of Jessore's 'Monihar' cinema hall across the country. From remote areas of the country, movie lovers used to come to this cinema hall to watch films. Even at this time, Manihar Cinema Hall is now considered as the first choice of producers. Due to the large capacity of this hall, the producers are in great demand. The hall is highly valued by the producers as any hit film can fetch good profits from this hall.
A joint production film 'Agni 2' was released in Jessore's 'Monihar' cinema hall this Eid. Mahiya Mahi starrer film collected about two and a half lakh taka from the hall on Eid day itself. In the first week of release, from Saturday to Thursday, 'Agni 2' earned Tk 10 lakh from Manihar.
It is believed that 'Agni 2' would have done more business if not for the excess of rain. However, everywhere 'Agni 2' was not as successful as Manihar. Although the ticket sales of the film have gone up in cinema halls, this joint production film can be said to be quite successful this Eid. The film is said to have been a huge success in India as well.
