The Dhaka Times Desk US-based human rights organization Human Rights Watch called for protection of bloggers instead of censorship.
The US-based human rights organization Human Rights Watch (HRW) has called on bloggers to ensure an environment of freedom of speech without inciting self-imposed censorship.
Also, this international human rights organization has demanded to ensure the security of bloggers and bring those who intervene in freedom of speech to justice.
A statement released by the organization early Wednesday said that 'the death of blogger Niladri Chattopadhyay is yet another reminder that the government must take swift action to protect the safety of all.'
The statement criticized the Inspector General of Police's recent advice to bloggers not to hurt religious sentiments.
It is to be noted that Niladri Chattopadhyay, known as 'Niloy Neel', was killed after entering his house in Goran area of Dhaka on August 7.
