The Dhaka Times Desk Myanmar's former military ruler Than Sue sees pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi as the 'future leader'. Suu Kyi was reported to have expressed 'support' in a secret meeting.
According to a BBC Online report yesterday, General Than Sue's grandson Nai Sue Thow Aung gave these information.
The news also said that the secret meeting between Suu Kyi and Than Suu was held last Friday. Details of the meeting were released through Than Sue's grandson. He is basically the mediator. Nei Sue said in a post on Facebook that the two people had a meeting for about two and a half hours.
It should be noted that Suu Kyi's National League for Democracy (NLD) won a huge victory in the historic general election held last month in Myanmar. They won about 80 percent of the seats.
Currently, the process of transfer of power to the new government is being discussed. Suu Kyi also met last week with the country's military-backed President Thein Sein and influential army chief General Min Aung Hlaing. The discussion was described as 'warm and frank'.
