A Saudi Arabian cleric has issued a fatwa banning selfies with cats. He also opined that taking pictures in general is haram (forbidden). Saudi scholar Sheikh Saleh bin Fawzan Al Fawzan gave this fatwa in a TV program.
After the popularity of selfies, there is a new trend of taking pictures with cats, especially among the westerners. It is said that the new trend is the selfie trend. Later, he said, 'Photography is prohibited. It doesn't matter if you take it with the cat or not.'
Scholar Sheikh Saleh Bin Fawzan Al Fawzan also said, 'Taking pictures without necessity is prohibited. Cats, dogs, wolves, whatever, are prohibited with everyone.'
