For this, about two years ago, the Punjab government developed a special smartphone app to identify Aedes mosquito larvae. The same technology is being used to prevent fraud in voting. Its use is mainly seen in Punjab.
Unprecedented surveillance measures were taken to ensure the smoothness of this year's elections in Pakistan. There have been allegations of widespread fraud in past elections. This time, so that such complaints do not arise, the authorities have tried their best. In addition to journalists and private observers, sophisticated technology has also been used. More than 15,000 government officials have been given the software used to kill mosquitoes on smartphones. Through this, they took pictures of any kind of irregularity in the polling stations and immediately reported it to the authorities. If someone is suspected to be a fake voter, their photo is taken and sent to the specific control room. A 30-member audit team cross-checks the revised voter list with the information sent by the officials. A large computer screen flashed red warning signs over certain areas. In case of suspicion, security forces and concerned authorities are immediately informed and appropriate action is taken. Officials said that violence has been controlled using this app during the election campaign as well. Officials were instructed to provide these software to common people as well.
Punjab Information Technology Board Chairman Omar Saif said, 'We thought more complaints would come towards the end of the election campaign. But at that time the complaint decreased.
