Shakib Khan angry with Indian film!

The Dhaka Times Desk Recently Indian and Kolkata films are entering the country's cinema market. There is a commotion in the film industry of Dhaka. Shakib is angry with the Indian film!

Shakib Khan, the current number one hero of the country, did not hide the fact that Indian films entered Bangladesh. Being the president of Film Artists Association, he had to join the protest.

A film from Kolkata called 'Kelor Keerti' was scheduled to be released in Bangladesh, but it was shelved due to a court order. He also appeared in a human chain organized to express solidarity with the July 20 movement against the exhibition of Indian films in Bangladesh.

Shakib Khan said in his speech at Manabbandhan, 'In the name of exchange, we are being put in front of unequal competition. A new film from Kolkata is releasing here. On the other hand, the businessmen of Kolkata are carrying an old picture of our country. They are running our picture in one or two halls in remote areas. They are taking our country's money by releasing their films in most cinema halls of our country. We have sat with Information Minister, Information Secretary several times before. Although they assured us, without caring about anything, their pictures have already come to our country. We want a permanent solution to this. Where Calcutta makes films for 5 crore taka, if our country's film of 50 lakh taka enters the competition, it will be an unequal competition.'

Notably, Shakib's public protest against the Kolkata film has been praised by many. However, many have also criticized him. There have been massive irregularities in the joint production film 'Shikari' which was released last Eid. Although the film was released in Bangladesh, it was not released in Kolkata!
