The Dhaka Times Desk Tauqi's film 'Ajnatnaama' won the Special Mention Award at Italy's Religion Today Film Festival. The award was held in Trieste, Italy.
The award was officially handed over to Tauqeer Ahmed on October 15. In this regard, Taukir Ahmed said, they have tried to find humanity in the pictures of this festival. When the film is appreciated in foreign countries and wins awards, it definitely feels good. The theme behind my film being nominated for the award is Migration and Coexistence. Many distinguished Bengalis from Italy were present at the ceremony when I received my award. It was a great pleasure for me to receive the award in front of them.'
Meanwhile, Toukir Ahmed will leave for Dhaka tomorrow (Tuesday) on the other hand, in honor of Bengalis in Italy today (Monday) evening.
It is to be noted that after the release, the new film 'Ajnatnama' directed by Tauqeer Ahmed participated in two festivals outside the country. The film won Best Director and Best Screenplay at the Kosovo Film Festival 'The Goddess on the Throne', Best Director at the South Asian Festival in Washington DC and the Jury Award at the Gulf of Naples -Independent Film Fest 2016 in May this year in Italy.
