The Dhaka Times Desk 999 service has been launched so that the citizens of the country can take civil services very easily. Citizen services can be availed by calling 999 for any urgent need.
It is learned that the National Help Desk (999) service has been launched on an experimental basis like developed countries to provide immediate assistance to citizens in urgent need.
It is known that under a pilot program conducted by the Information and Communication Technology Department, this service has been launched through an experimental framework to provide police, fire service and ambulance services to the citizens for emergency needs.
It has been informed that this activity will be conducted with the cooperation of the services of Bangladesh Police, Fire Service and Civil Defense Directorate and private organization Plus One.
According to the demand of the people, it will be launched with full enthusiasm along with voice service in the next year by adding more innovations to this service.
The program is currently running on an experimental basis from 7 am to 10 pm. This service will be open 24 hours from next week. Limited police assistance, ambulance assistance is being provided on trial basis, many are benefiting from it. This program will continue on a trial basis for another 6 months. It has been reported that this program will be expanded beyond Dhaka in the future.

The app and website of the National Help Desk was unveiled at the closing ceremony of Digital World-2016 held in Dhaka recently. Finance Minister Abul Mal Abdul Muhith and State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak launched this app and website at Bashundhara International Convention City.
Using this mobile app, citizens can use the search option to find direct phone, live chat and various information on the 999 emergency call center.
Through this app and website, citizens can know various information of emergency services along with location in case of emergency. Although only emergency services are available through the call center (in the future through voice calls), the digital medium of 999 help desk is available through mobile application or website (http://nhd.gov.bd/) in addition to emergency services, general government services, life and livelihood related information and services. can do
