The Dhaka Times Desk Many of us can't take selfies as much as we try. However, it is not difficult to take an attractive selfie if you adopt some techniques. A recent study has revealed some such innovative techniques.
A group of German researchers conducted a long study on selfies. The research paper was published in the journal Frontiers in Psychology. The study asked 172 people for their opinions on a number of different selfies taken. Basically, selfie subjects are asked about their attractiveness, helpfulness, intelligence and body size.
Based on the opinion of the said 172 people, the following results were found in the study:
attractiveness
Studies have shown that selfies taken from the left side of the face at a 15-degree angle look most attractive. This applies more to women.
A tendency to cooperate
An overhead selfie makes a person look helpless. However, there is no definitive opinion on whether a person's face is taken from below to reveal helpful characteristics.
intelligence
A selfie taken with the camera on the right side of a person's face appears more intelligent than a selfie taken directly in front of the face. Besides, taking a selfie like this makes a person seem sympathetic. This applies more to men.
body size
A selfie taken from above will make a person look a little thinner than normal. The lower the camera is, the fatter it appears. However, to show thinness, the photo should be taken from the right side of the face.
