The Dhaka Times Desk Indian visa made easier. Applicants for Indian tourist visa in Chittagong do not need to submit any ticket along with their application. There is no fixed date for the interview.
According to a notification from the Assistant High Commission of India, this new rule will be introduced on a trial basis from July 9 for travel visa aspirants. Visa aspirants can come to the designated visa center between 8:30 am to 12:30 pm and submit the application form. No bus or plane tickets are required to travel to India with the application.
However, it has been mentioned in the notification that the previous rules will remain in place in the case of medical, business, conference and other visas.
It is also said that the earlier rule of accepting visa applications at separate counters for senior citizens and freedom fighters will also remain in place.
The notification of the Indian Embassy further states that this rule is only for Chittagong and is being implemented on an experimental basis. The notification mentioned that this initiative to facilitate the visa process has been taken to increase communication with the people of India and Bangladesh.
