The Dhaka Times Desk Tourist visa applicants will not need to take advance appointment at Jessore and Khulna IVAC from June 11, they can submit their application directly. Applications will be accepted at the two IVACs from 8 AM to 12 PM.
This decision has been taken as part of the ongoing initiative of the Indian High Commission to make obtaining Indian visas more hassle-free, fair and easy for Bangladeshi citizens, said the Indian High Commission in Dhaka. According to a statement from the High Commission, medical, business and other visa applications except for tourist visas can be submitted directly as before.
Apart from this, for the convenience of senior citizens and freedom fighters, submission of application forms will continue directly at other counters. The new system is part of an initiative that was piloted in Chittagong on 9 July 2017, Rajshahi and Rangpur on 10 September 2017, Mirpur Road in Dhaka on 10 October 2017 and Sylhet, Mymensingh and Barisal on 20 May 2018. Which is similarly being launched in Khulna and Jessore IVACs. The move is aimed at facilitating the obtaining of Indian visas and increasing connectivity between the people of India and Bangladesh.
