According to a news daily in India, Santosh Gaurav of Palu village contested for the Jakmatta Devi Gram Vikash Jot in the recently held Gram Panchayat elections in Maharashtra. The results also revealed, the alliance led by Point Bikash Society Chairman Ramdas Sawant and former head of Palu village Baban Sawant defeated the rival Jakmatta Devi Pariwar Jota in 6 out of 7 seats.
Out of which Santosh Gaurav got 221 votes and defeated his opponent by 44 votes. Santosh's wife Renuka Santosh Gaurav became overjoyed after receiving this news. Then she took her husband on her shoulders and went round the whole village.
