It is a mythical region surrounded by Sitakunda Sabuj Hills of Chittagong District. The unique wonders of nature are hidden in the grooves of the mountain, numerous small and large waterfalls and springs. This place is filled with the mysterious atmosphere of the hills, as well as the ruins of an ancient temple known as Kumarikunda. In ancient times, Hindus considered hot springs very sacred. Kumarikunda is also similar to the Saltaksakunda located in Sitakunda and the temple built around a gas-fired fire pit in the form of a fire-like bubble. Its main pilgrimage site has shifted about 10 km due to time. Many old brick structures have been buried in the ground.
This kumarikund is a well of 8/10 feet deep clear blue water lined with stones or it can be called Chowbachcha. Bubbles of gas erupted intermittently from beneath the clear blue water. You can reach Sitakund by S Alam, Shyamli, Unique, Saudia, Hanif, Eagle, Ena etc. buses going to Chittagong from Syedabad, Fakirapool and Mahakhali bus stand in capital Dhaka. If you want to ride the train from Dhaka to Sitakunda, you have to take Chittagong bound intercity train and get down at Feni station. Then you can reach Feni Mohipal bus stand by rickshaw/auto and from there you can take local bus to Sitakund. After reaching Kumarikunda in Sitakunda, you can go to Kumarikunda with the help of local residents.
There are several hotels to stay in Sitakunda. Among which Hotel Saudia, Saimun Residence are notable. There is also a Dakbungalow under Tele-Communications at Sitakunda. Can stay there with permission. If you want to stay in a better residential hotel, you have to go to the hotels located at Chittagong Alankar Mor, Station Road, Newmarket and GEC Mor.
