The promise says that if the BJP comes to power in the state, a one-time payment of Rs 2 lakh will be given to a girl once she turns 18.
The country's ruling party, BJP, has made such a promise in the party's assembly election manifesto. Amit Shah released the manifesto on Sunday evening. It is said that it has been named 'Sonar Bangla Sankalp Patra'.
This manifesto is divided into 13 parts. The manifesto has made separate promises on women, farmers, health, youth, administration, financial development, culture, infrastructure, tourism, development of all, regional development, Kolkata and environmental protection. There is also a special focus on the development of women.
Now the state government through the 'Kanyashree' scheme gives Rs. 25,000 as a one-time payment to girls at the age of 18, apart from paying Rs. BJP promises, if it comes to power, the Padma government will give Rs 2 lakh to girls when they turn 18.
This project is named 'Balika Alo'. It has been said that schoolgirls will get Rs 3,000 per annum for sixth standard, Rs 5,000 for ninth standard and Rs 7,000 per year for eleventh standard.
After coming to power in the state in 2011, the Chief Minister of the state Mamata Banerjee announced various schemes including 'Kanyashree', 'Rupshree' for women. Trinamool also claims its massive success. It is clear from BJP's manifesto that BJP is going to walk on Mamata's tried and tested path to win elections.
At the same time, 33 percent reservation for women in government jobs will also be said. Apart from this, girls' education will be free at all levels from KG to MA. The BJP has also promised that the transport of girls in the state will be absolutely free.
The state government of the country will give a bond of 50,000 rupees when a girl child is born from scheduled and other backward classes and economically backward families.
A fixed deposit pledge scheme of Rs 1 lakh for women in this category of families is named as 'Ghare Lakshmi Yojana'. This benefit is available only on marriage after 18 years of age.
BJP's manifesto has many other promises to make women happy. It has been said that 9 women battalions will be created in the state police. At the same time, 3 women battalions will be created in the State Reserve Police Force.
Each police station will have a separate help desk for women. Women will be in charge of this. Along with this, the BJP has promised to allocate Rs 2,000 crore for women self-help groups under the 'Atmanirbhar Mahila' scheme.
The government will also give a one-time loan of 20 thousand rupees to the women of the state. Widow allowance in the state will be increased from 1 thousand to 3 thousand rupees per month. At present, the state government gives Rs. 5,000 to pregnant women. It will be increased to 9 thousand rupees.
Vending machines of 50,000 sanitary napkins will be installed in schools and colleges across the state. Sanitary Napkin will be available for just Rs.1. The current ruling party of India, BJP, has made various promises in the election campaign propaganda.
