2 people were killed in a petrol bomb hurled by miscreants at a truck loaded with onions in Dinajpur's Hakimpur upazila at around 12 o'clock on Thursday night. 3 people were injured.
The deceased are the owner of the truck Shahnewaz Mandal (30) and the onion trader of Gaibandhar Sadullapur upazila Md. Adilur Rahman (40). Truck driver Yusuf Ali, assistant Shahjahan and another worker Suman were injured in this incident. The truck was carrying onions from Hili land port to Sadullapur in Gaibandha district.
When the truck reached a place called Itai Baona of Hakimpur upazila while passing through Ghoraghat road from Hili land port, the besiegers hurled petrol bombs directly at the truck driver. The truck caught fire and the driver lost control. The truck overturned on the side of the road. At that time, Yusuf Ali, the driver of the truck, Shahjahan and the worker Sumon caught fire but they managed to get out of the truck. But both the owner of the truck and the onion trader in the cabin could not get out of the truck. Burned to death.
Meanwhile, 3 passengers were burnt in a petrol bomb attack on a bus in the capital today. On Friday morning, 3 people including the driver suffered serious burns in a petrol bomb attack on a passenger bus at Paribagh of Ramna police station in the capital. The condition of two of them is critical. This happened in the morning. When this petrol bomb was thrown in front of the bus, the driver and the female passenger got burnt. They have been admitted to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
