But one of its problems is that it gets stained very easily. Interestingly, a type of polymer has recently been discovered that can regenerate itself even after being damaged.

Its religion and work will remain completely as before. These materials can be used to create self-healing seals, stain resistant paints and more reliable reinforced fiber plastics.
Self-healing polymers are very attractive materials. But its creation process was not easy. Scientists were following two different types of processes. They either used a network of many microcapsules that carried the repair agent, or created the polymer through a reversible chemical reaction. But the first process only repairs a few times while the second process requires a large amount of energy as a catalyst.
By Christopher Berner-Kolik A third process follows a team of lead researchers. They form a changeable network of small molecules or cross-linked fibers bound together by reversible chemical reactions. Interestingly, the fibers of this polymer can be broken and reassembled with a little heat.
Some remarkable achievements were made in this new system. First, it initiates self-repair using heat, light, or chemicals. Second, it self-repairs in just a few minutes at 120 degrees. Third, material religion remains unchanging and can self-repair countless times. Their process can be applied to other known plastics as well.
Think about it, a plastic item gets old, it gets stained. If you heat it, it will become new again. In many other such cases, self-healing polymers will be used. It really opened up a new horizon.
