UK-based Anjem Chowdhury, a member of Sharia for Pakistan, was scheduled to hold a conference in Pakistan. There he was supposed to make an announcement about Malala's fate. However, he canceled the conference as he did not get a visa from Pakistan. Anjem Chowdhury is associated with some banned groups like Islam for UK.
Anjem Chowdhury said, 'We have looked into Malala's issue. No proof of apostasy was found against him. So we should not target him.'
It should be noted that on October 9, Malala was injured by Taliban gunfire along with two classmates in Pakistan's Swat Valley. This incident caused a storm of criticism around the world. He was initially treated in a Pakistani hospital in a critical condition. Later, he was admitted to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, UK for treatment. Malala is currently recovering there.
