The incident took place in Dighli union of Chandraganj upazila of Lakshmipur district. Bar Nabikur Rahman Mukul (38) ultimatum to return his wife Surma Akhtar within 24 hours.

According to media sources, Mukul organized this rally in front of hundreds of people in the premises of the local Dighli Islamia Dakhil Madrasa. Meanwhile, this incident has created a lot of excitement among the people of the area.
Local residents said that on August 24, Nabikur Rahman, son of deceased Momin Ulra of Dighli village, took Mukul's wife Surma Akhter out of the house and took her to an unknown place. Later, the husband Mukul went to the houses of various relatives and did not find his wife. On August 31, he lodged a complaint with the newly formed Chandraganj police station.
Mukul alleged that his wife was taken away by Md Alauddin, son of Aliullah Chowdhury of the same area. Meanwhile, at the protest rally, Mukul gave the accused Alauddin a 24-hour ultimatum to return his wife.
Mukul told reporters that if his wife does not return within a certain time, he will meet the Prime Minister and take action. He alleged that local UP chairman Ismail Hossain was involved in taking away his wife.
Officer-in-charge of Chandraganj police station said that a complaint has been lodged with the police station regarding the disappearance of Mukul's wife. Emergency messages have been sent to various police stations in the country. An investigation is underway in this regard.
