The case filed by actress Nazneen Akhter Happy against cricketer Rubel Hossain has been decided by her lawyer Kumar Debul Dey to not handle the case. Happy has also made it clear that he is not 'willing' to handle the case himself. Of course, Happy had expressed such an attitude before.
After Rubel's brilliant bowling performance against England yesterday, lawyer Kumar Devul Dey posted on Facebook, 'From now on I am no longer Happy's lawyer. Greetings Bangladesh Cricket Team!
He also wrote in that status 'I am informing the cricket fans of Bangladesh that as a professional I have taken the responsibility of handling the case on behalf of Happy. I no longer wish to fight the case against Rubel in Bangladesh's success and therefore immediately withdrew my name as Happy's lawyer.'
Happy said, 'Two weeks ago, I decided not to handle the case against Rubel anymore. When Rubel got bail in the case filed by me, my lawyers Barrister Parvez Ahmed and Kumar Debul had nothing to do. They were lawyers in this case only in name. And when I said that I will not continue the case, Devul's statement has no meaning.
It is to be noted that a case of rape was filed against Happy Rubel in Mirpur police station on December 13 last year, but the recently published forensic report did not find any evidence of rape.
