The Dhaka Times Desk The Nigerian militant group Boko Haram has 'acknowledged' cooperation with another militant group, the Islamic State, Boko Haram.
According to BBC news, another militant group, Islamic State, has 'acknowledged' cooperation with Boko Haram, following the proposal of the Nigerian militant group Boko Haram.
According to a report, IS has accepted Boko Haram's 'loyalty' in an audio message. But the authenticity of that audio message has not yet been confirmed.
In that audio message, an IS spokesman said that the goal of establishing an Islamic state (caliphate) has now been spread to West Africa. In that audio message, the name of the person who identified himself as IS spokesman was Mohammad al-Adnani.
In the audio message, he said, 'We are giving you a good news, we are going to expand the Islamic State in West Africa as well. Because the Caliphate (Islamic State) has accepted the allegiance of the organization of Sunni brothers who are spreading Islam and doing Jihad.' According to the news, the spokesman also invited Muslims to join the West African rebel-militant group. He also rejected the successive victories of Iraqi and US-led coalition forces in Iraq and Syria.
Incidentally, in an audio message published last Saturday, Boko Haram promised to work together with full support for the establishment of an Islamic caliphate.
Note that since 2009, Boko Haram has been waging an armed struggle to establish an Islamic regime in northern Nigeria. Boko Haram's fight has gradually spread to neighboring countries.
