The Dhaka Times Desk The police have arrested 2 RAB officials accused of the sensational Narayanganj seven murder incidents. They were arrested on Saturday morning and taken to Narayanganj.
According to media reports, the police arrested a suspected sacked RAB 2 officer involved in the kidnapping and sensational seven murders in Narayanganj on Saturday morning from the cantonment area. The news confirmed that they were taken to Narayanganj.
Those arrested are the former CO of RAB-11. Colonel Tarek Saeed Mohammad and Major Arif Hussain. Police Superintendent of Narayanganj Dr. Mahid Uddin also confirmed this to the media. The other accused is Navy officer and former head of RAB's Narayanganj camp, Lt. Commander MM Rana has been reported missing.
It should be noted that Narayanganj City Corporation Panel Mayor Nazrul Islam and his 5 associates and lawyer Chandan Sarkar and his driver Jahangir were kidnapped on April 27. After three days, half-melted bodies of these 7 people were recovered from Shitalakshya river. At that time, when the families of the victims complained that RAB-11 was involved in this incident, they were first retired from service and later arrested on the orders of the High Court.
