The Dhaka Times Desk Former Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank Khandaker Ibrahim Khaled passed away. He was on life support for several days.
Ibrahim Khaled was admitted to a private hospital in the capital when he was infected with Corona. After being treated there, if he was negative for corona, his physical condition started to improve. Later, after being brought to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University for better treatment, his physical condition deteriorated. Later, when his condition worsened, doctors took him on life support last Sunday around noon.
Khondkar Ibrahim Khaled did not let the age of his mind grow even in his old age. Exuberant, lively, young minded Khondkar Ibrahim Khaled has done complex calculations of banks, capital markets, financial institutions all his life. He lived his life simply. He liked the closeness of children and teenagers even in the hectic work life. Until the end of his life, he was closely associated with the Central Kachikacha Asar.
Khondkar Ibrahim Khaled's career began in 1963. Along with managing director of 4 banks including Pubali Bank, he handled the duties of Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank. He was the independent director of the bank till his death. One of the most important tasks of his multifaceted career was the preparation of investigative reports after the stock market crash in 2010. He was also present in the media about good governance in financial institutions. Khondkar Ibrahim Khaled, who holds Masters from Dhaka University and MBA from IBA, was born on 4th July 1941, in Gopalganj.
He died in the morning while undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) hospital. His body will be taken to Kachikachar Mela at 11 am.
