In this regard, the doctors of the Indian-administered Kashmir's main psychiatric center, Medical College Hospital and the adjacent Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (IMHANS), said that the number of psychiatric patients who came to be treated after the continuous political unrest in Kashmir in 2016 has increased by a jump of about 10,000.
Doctors said that in 2016, 40,000 mental patients were treated, but the next year it increased to 50,000. Mainly since the beginning of the conflict in Kashmir in 1989, the number of psychiatric patients has been increasing continuously.
