Last Monday, Ahmed met and spoke with President Obama at the annual 'Astronomy Night' held in honor of scientists at the White House. While talking to Kishore Ahmed, Obama said that the youth should not be suppressed, but should be encouraged to work.
Recently, 14-year-old Ahmed Mohamed showed up at school with a self-made clock to please the teachers. MacArthur High School authorities in Irving, Texas reported the watch Ahmed brought to school as a 'bomb'. Later the police arrested him and took him away. However, the Sudanese boy Mohamed was arrested but later the police released him as they could not prove any charges against him. The incident caused a strong reaction around the world including the United States. After learning about the incident, US President Barack Obama spoke on behalf of the teenager and expressed interest in meeting him.
